Rattle in the driver door

I love my '02 SLT XL, but noises drive me crazy.
Lately there is a rattle coming from the inside the drivers door.
Can I take off the door panels without causing the airbags to deploy?

Disconnect your battery while you are working and you won't have any airbag worries.
