85 chevy pickup brake codes?

i have a 85 chevy pickup, when i try to get parts for my brakes im asked what is my brake code. the parts person told me that it would be either in the glove box or under the hood. he also said it would be something like jd5 jb3 and so on. ive looked on the sticker in the glove box and there is no such code. i also looked under the hood and only found the sticker for idle and timing specs. can somebody tell me is there another way to find out what my brake code is. please!!!!! thanks.
