New tunable MAF
I was browsing 3SI and came across a new kind of MAF that is easier to tune than the MAFtuner or the ARC-2. Here is what it is http://www.spmotorsports.com/dsm_intake_proflow.html
And here is the discussion on 3SI about it http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread....2&page=1&pp=10 I plan on getting a 2nd gen VR4 as soon as I find the right one and I plan on spending most of my summers earnings moding it, this may or may not include bigger turbos depending on how much money I can make. If I find that the bigger turbos will have to wait till the school year or the next summer would moding the fule system with bigger injectors (660cc?), fuel pump, and fuel management (like this) be a good idea? I guess what I'm asking in essence is would it be worth upgrading the fuel system before buying bigger turbos. I plan on getting the following mods during the summer before considering upgrading the fule and turbos. Quote:

with bigger turbos a better fuel system is a must....so it would be a good iedea to get bigger injectors and a better fuel pump...and yes a tuning device to keep it all in check

Re: New tunable MAF
Yea I get that, but would it make any sense to do it well in advance of the turbo upgrade (looking to be a largish TD04 setup like DR650s).

no, it wouldn't make any sense to upgrade the fuel system BEFORE you upgrade turbos; you would just be wasting a LOT of fuel, and running VERY rich. however, you might find it most economical to buy the parts to upgrade system by system, rather than buying everything at once. But, i know its a killer when you have the parts, but not the time to install everything. Ideally, you should upgrade the fuel system AS you upgrade the turbos. As you know, air and fuel work hand in hand (unless your adding the juice....in which case you could just upgrade fuel...but really all that would be is a wet shot with an extra fuel line with the Nitrous line).
bonne chance!

or what u could do is buy the fuel upgrades and tune them to work with what u have and then retune once u upgrade but it would be smarter to just do it all at once

Re: New tunable MAF
How far can you boost on 93 octaine?

Re: New tunable MAF
Gotta run to my final, so I'll check this out more at a later time, but it has gotten my interest.
One thing I noticed...that thing about no oil, as it clogs the sensors...as far as I know, that is only a rumor, never been proven. I will have to read the reviews on 3si later, because I really am interested. As far as boosting on 93 octane..with upgraded turbos and fuel systems, you should get a datalogger to monitor knock and everything else. General estimates with that much power could be deadly if the weather changes. And personally, I wouldn't upgrade the fuel system until the turbos. Do it all at the same time.

Re: New tunable MAF
Wow, I just read all 16 pages...
I have to say it peaked my interest. I'm definantly considering it in the future instead of the LS6 Maft. I think there are valid arguments on both sides...which makes it tough... I was completely sold until Jeff Lucius posted. But I think overall driveability throughout the range, plus the ease of installation and tuning are going to swing me. Very good find Thourun, Thanks.

Re: New tunable MAF
It's not worth it for an SL...unless you are heavily modded. It's benefits are negligable on stock vr4s. It only becomes really worth it with larger injectors and larger turbos.
