Re: Radar

lets say youre running on the interstate, speed limit is 70mph. you have one of the scrambler things. the cop clocks you at 40mph b/c the thing scrambled his gun. well hes gonna stop you anyway b/c he knows somethings up. thats the only problem with the scramblers. as for the best radar detectors, try looking at the Valentine One. its said to be the best on the market. and it shows it with the price. if youve ever heard of the cannonball runs, the races across the country in exotic and high end cars, they recommend that every driver have one of these radar detectors.

Here is the Valentine Website I hear it's the best... shows where the threat is... how many... or if it's possibly a false alarm...pretty sweet... and has like a range beyond line of sight.

Edit: $399 + shipping so it's not cheap

Re: Radar

just b/c they are legal doesnt mean that hes not gonna stop you. and most of the time, he can guess how fast you were going, and thats all he needs. the only way to contest that is to go to court and say that you were using a laser scrambler so he couldnt have clocked you at the right speed.
my g/f just got stopped the other night. the cop said he clocked her going 55 but she was really going 65 in a 40. so he obviously didnt clock her and he was just guessing but he could tell that she was speeding. and thats all he needed to pull her over and give her a ticket. but she only got a warning. i wish i could get warnings

yeah I've never gotten a ticket

I've had MANY times that I should have too. Heck recently I was going 90 in a 60 and then I came up to some traffic so then i was going about 73 in the 60 in the carpool lane cause I had a passanger. Well I'm generally really good abotu looking around, looking at mirrors, etc. Well because we were talking and stuff I didn't notice the state cop riding my ass. I have no clue how lon ghe'd be there, but I happened to glance in my rearview mirror and said under my breathe "oh fuck..." lol. So I slowly began to slow down and got to 65 and of ocurse I'm so waiting for him to flip on his lights and he just gets in the lane next to me, goes around and of course I'm paranoid as hell and then he gets infront of me and flips on his lights and pulls the guy over infront of me. me and my friend were like WTF????? Why did he pull that guy over instead of me???? We were going the same speed and infact I was going wa faster than him before I came up on the traffic. Extremely weird.

I'd love to get a Valentine, but my husband is such a stickler about speed and stuff and is dead against once. Thats why I was so paranoid about getting pulled over, not worried about a ticket since it'd be my first one, but about telling my husband lol.

Re: Radar

The Passport is able to read radar/ laser from pretty far distances. The best way to get ahold of a radar is to get one off Ebay. Thats where i got mine for $200. And any radar you get for $60 msrp is going to be a piece of crap!

This man speaks wise words. The X50 is indeed the GOD of all radar detectors. I have picked up cops shooting KA band radar up to 7 miles away on an open highway stretch. There is nothing better than the X50. Plus its cheaper than the V1. Dont bother with those Wallmart brand ones, you will be over confidant with it and screw yourself with a ticket. X50 is the way to go!!!
