abs control unit
I have a 1999 cougar with 41,000 miles on it and recently the traction control light, brake light and abs lights came on. Had the dealership look at. They disconnected it and reconnected. All the lights went out and continued to work for a couple of months. Now they are back on again and then off again and then on again. You get the picture. Anyway they are now telling me I need a new abs control unit, cost $1100. Just seems to me that the connections aren't making contact. Has anyone out there had this problem? Talk to a junk yard and they have never had a request for this part. They even thought and well as a private mechanic, that it's the connection.
