best Carbon Fiber?
So, I am looking for the best type of Carbon Fiber decal to use as well as anything I would need to apply it. I am working on a Ferrari Enzo and I need a bunch of CF, about 3-4 full pages. thanks for your help

For twill weave, I think Scalemotorsport and SAS are the best.
For plain weave I would go with the spraying through mesh method as it looks far better than the decals currently available. Check out the seats in Kuntas thread and check out Tamiya's site for a how-to. Cheers Farrokh

this question come up every month or so short answer is no. Museum Collection is the best CF I worked with SAS is a very good all around CF Decal SMS is very good, but VERY fragile. for carefull work, it's better than the others, but for a big work (a hood, a chasis) it's harder to work with. it is also VERY reactive with Microsol, more than the others. Can do awesome work, but not for beginner as for the price, take a look here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=270705 as for the mesh paint (I hate it btw), take a look here: http://www.tamiya.com/english/howto/car1/tip1.htm

Compare http://www.works-y3f.com/af/GC10/seats/mk-sas03.jpg to http://www.italianhorses.net/Gallery...dup/Enzo39.JPG Now tell me which one looks better? Now there is nothing technically wrong with the second one. In fact its perfect (well this guy is one of the best), but the pattern on the decal is so fake looking that it just doesn't look right. Theres no metallic shine that the painted carbon has. Cheers Farrokh

Re: best Carbon Fiber?
baller and samurai...you are obviously a bit behind on your reading. This topic has been beaten and beaten numerous times!!!.
search a combination of the words "best, carbon fiber, decal, method" and you will not want to read all the threads about a subject that has been covered with great detail and redundancy. It's admirable that you'd like to try the tamiya method, but again...i've read on at least 3 separate threads explaining the various shortcomings.... let me help the lazy AGAIN...it doesn't work unless it's a flat surface, it's VERY hit or miss and don't expect it to look consistent throughout.
