Re: 340 Engine Rebuild -- Recommendation??
From what I've gathered there is no builder in So.CA that knows how to build A Buick properly.Which is the reason I've decided to rebuild my 65 300 myself. So far I'm only about $700 in and I will only hopefully need rings and bearins so I'll still be under a grand which is pretty good considering I bought a hi-po cam,lifters,($210)oil pump booster plate($19),heads were re-built($250),gasket set($99),double roller timing set($80ish).Give or take.Parts are available from Postons Ent.and TA Performance. If you need any help or have questions let me know.

thanks for the reply -- i've heard the same thing from a couple of people now. unfortunately i work like a dog and don't have the time to do it myself, not if i want to get it done any time soon!!!
tricky thing, a buick -- it costs more to repair/restore a car that no matter what you do will be worth less than a chevelle or a lemans/gto in comparable condition... |

Re: 340 Engine Rebuild -- Recommendation??
Yea thats true, but our cars are(or will be) much more rare than a Chevelle.A little later in the game I plan to build a 455 and th400 combo for my car.Which would really make it fly!but yea it will probably never be worth as much as a Chevelle, but it will sure as hell be faster!
