75 Buick Gran sport (Chevy question)

Hello,
I've got a 75 Gran sport with sb 350 with about 144000 miles. It may be 244000 but I wouldnt think so - it runs so smooth and quiet. Or did.

A few days ago I noticed the oil pressure was low which is not so uncommon but I also noticed it smelled like it was burning oil which is uncommon. So I added the oil and this morning I went to crank it up and got the clank-clank-clank-clank and my buddy says "well - sounds like you've thrown a rod." Now I've got a minimal knowledge of cars but this means the engines pretty well shot, right?

Anyway, I've tried to research but dont have any idea where to look. So, my question is - is a chevy 350 compatible with the Buick engine mounts and will it bolt right up to the transmission and everything? I dont expect to find an old Buick 350 anymore but chevy's are easy to come by. Also, I dont have 2 grand for a pretty new crate motor. Looks like I'll be rebuilding one and riding a bicycle in the mean time.

My brother also suggested a 75-78 GM truck engine.

And comments or research information would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot

PS... I tried posting in Buick forum but I think it was all about "Pimping" their cars in there so no one answered.
