Wish Me Luck Guys.

I am going to begin installing some parts that I have been sitting on for a few weeks today.....I have the next few days off of work so I will be installing....

1) HKS 272/272 cams
2)Crower Valve springs
3)J&E Forged Pistons
4)Crower Rods

Is there anything I should be taking into consideration while doing these upgrades.

its good to replace all your fluids and replace all the gaskets , and studs ..just to be safe....

when you do your upgraded valve springs replace the valve stem seals too. they go bad on 4g63 motors, and then your car smokes after your leave it sit a day or two.

when doin these kinds of mods...would you raise or lower your engine's C/R??

Have you ever built a 4 cyl before? Had it apart and put it back together? You got a hell of a project ahead of you if you havent... I would definately find someone to help you. Also, I strongly suggest you sell the JE pistons unless you know people that run them in DSMs. They have been known to expand when hot and shrink smaller than the stock bore so you get major blow by until your car just doesnt run because there is no compression!

Sorry I forgot to mention that I did already purchase the ARP Head studs.

I am going to order the gaskets today.

And I do know 2 people that have the JE pistons in their cars. I was referred them by 2 guys in the South Jersey DSM Club. But I have never personally used them. Which ones would you recommend Jake? I dont want to harm my engine in any way. Shes only got 29K(original engine) on her and I want to get alot more use out of her. It doesnt matter much if I can't begin this project right away I can wait to get new stuff. Im going to be driving my 95 rs around for alittle while my GST sits in my parents garage till I finish it.

I do have some experience taking apart a 4cyl and putting it back together. But I will be getting some help from my fiances step dad. He's a very experienced mechanic.

Oh and one other question, with the mods I have now and the internals Im getting ready to install.....How much boost do you think I will be able to safely run?
