1999 honda accord

Hi guys, i am a newbie but i need you guys for some opinions.

I am having a conversation with my friend that I am using the 87(regular)
instead of 93(super). He told me that 87 will mess up my fuel tank. Is it true?
I am wondering how much it charge to install the remote starter and alarm in the dealer?
I also want to change the headlight bulb to xenon superwhite hid 9006, will it hurt my battery?

Thanks for all of the help.

Re: 1999 honda accord

Use whatever grade of gas your owner's manual says (unless you've modded the motor, then you're on your own). But using a different grade will NOT mess up the FUEL TANK (why would he/she think that?). But if you use too LOW of a grade, it can cause preignition and, ultimately, damage the motor.

If your manual says use unleaded regular, then that will be fine. PRemium is not necessary unless you have some type of force induction (Turbo, Supercharger, Spray)

Dealers will not install aftermarket accessories. Why, they won't be held liable for what ever happens to the item or to your car.

No, aftermarket bulbs will not harm your battery. as long as you turn them off at night when you're done driving

Hey, I'm sure the dealer would install a kryptonite converter if you paid them enough! <grin>

wai1480 - you're obviously VERY -umm- not knowledgeable about cars. So go to a (non-dealer) shop you think you can trust (in Brooklyn??!!) and have them install your goodies.

First the different grades of fuel will not harm your gas tank, that is bull, 87 is the recommended for your car anything lower might cause your engine to knock, anything higher will do nothing, except cost more, and I wouldn't get those HID bulbs again, unless you get the whole ballast to with them. I got just those HID bulbs and they melted the whole harness that they come with.
