Re: Sirius Radio Install in my Civic

sweet on the sirius radio, but im not feeling all the receivers they have, why dont they just make a deck that is a receiver too. would be cleaner
i think you should put it in a less visable spot so theifs dont want it.

Re: Sirius Radio Install in my Civic

looks good, and alot of higher end after market decks usually do have a xm or sirius reciever, you just have to purchase the antana, subscription, and a processing unit thing.

Re: Sirius Radio Install in my Civic

Nice thing about this is it also came with a home unit. The receiver pops out and will go right into the home unit. Ya the high end panisonic I got used to come with it but this year they quit putting sat radio in them so I got hosed. I plan to install it lower down by the cubby under the deck I just dont feel like fabin a bunch of stuff right now.

I like SIRIUS radio, I am not to fond of the universal tuners, like the one you have. I think it's looks fine there. Not like you have much choice in the mounting of it. I am interested in the way you mounted those gauges there. what did you use? can you post some pics of them for me?
I would really appreciate it.

Thanks, Mike

Re: Sirius Radio Install in my Civic

I modified a SPW 3 gauge universal dash pod. It was pretty easy, I used a dremel to cut it up and then ran the wires down thru the heater vent area.

Here is one on ebay right now. Univeral Gauge Pod
Here is a pic.

Re: Sirius Radio Install in my Civic

Just this last week I was looking at satellite radio's and I also hate the universal decks. Low and behold I forgot my cd player is 'xm ready' so all I have to do is buy the adapter, antenna, and unit thingy and it' will play through my deck which is awesome, I didn't want to have another unit.

Also, is that the sportster unit or just the regular one? The sportster one I guess just has settings for like NFL shit. Looks good though, its not that bad of a place where u mounted it.

Hey! Thanks a lot. I think I might do that. I was also thinking about mounting them just behind that in the dash. I will have to check the depth and clearance.

Re: Sirius Radio Install in my Civic

This unit gets all the NFL and all that shit. Here the deal between XM and Sirius. XM may charge you only 9.95 a month but you have to pay for extra channels. 12.95 for Sirius and you get everything they have to offer. Also once you start on sirius you will allways get the new channels at the same monthly rate.

Ya I was going to do that to but every A/F gauge I found was to long to go in the dash.

Re: Sirius Radio Install in my Civic

high voltage, playboy, xm online..ect there about 5 others I cant find right now but they cost anywhere from 1 to 3 dollars more a month each. Also sirius gives you online Sirius for free with your monthly sub.

Re: Sirius Radio Install in my Civic

A cut and paste from one of the websites.
"XM Premium Channels & Services
For an additional service charge, XM offers premium channels and services beyond the amazing selection of music, news, sports and entertainment on our core satellite channels. Take advantage of everything XM has to offer by ordering these great options."

Not sure if you have heard of Night Calls it pretty dirty but on your radio you can here whats going on as well as if you had DTV or Dishnetwork watch it too.
