Question power window trouble please help me!

I have a passenger power window that doesnt work on my 93 camry and i am gonna buy a regulator and motor to install but i wondered if anyone had done this already and if it an easy thing to do or if its a difficult project.
i asked a similar question already so i apologize
i took the door panel off and i figured id ask before touching something that maybe i shouldnt.
So, can I change the regulator and motor by myself or should i get a professional to do it for me?
Even better question, how do i know if it is the regulator ior if it is the motor that is bad? can i test them? and how?

Thanks for any help!

As far as I know, the regulator and motor are one single assembly. The way you can test it is by running a direct power source to the regulator and see if it moves. You should also check your switch panels too, because if a switch shorts out, or the contact breaks off inside, it will cause the window to not work. I recommend that you test out the switches first before deciding to go ahead and replace the regulator.

yotatechie04's suggestion is a good one. The switch on the drivers side door and the passenger door must be checked. The way these are wired, the voltage from the drivers side switch goes through the passenger side switch (to prevent shorting if both are used at the same time) before reaching the motor assembly. So, even if the passenger switch is never used, its contacts can burn. And this is exactly what happened to my 95 Corolla, which has the same wiring and switch set-up for the windows as the Camry.

Before replacing the motor and regulator, connecting voltage to them to check their operation might save you some money. If it works, then one of the switches is suspect.
