Check Engine Light

The check engine light came on my 2002 Saturn SL. How do I clear the engine codes? I need to check to see if the codes are intermittent because the engine runs ok.

You can only erase the codes with an ODB II scanner. Autozone or some shop will have one; you can find out what the codes mean (if they don't know then post the code here and we'll tell you) and see if there are any problems. You can buy your own scanner too, prices range from an ebay $65 to a complete kit topping $600.
