specs on 97 Mustang GT

while was working today a close friend of mines borther came in..He has a 97' Mustang GT...He just got the car a few months ago and i asked him how much HP it had..He claimed he had no mods and was running 255HP...Iam like wtf... i thought pre-1999 Mustang GT's only have 215HP....Confused... he claimed only the old push-rod 5.0's from 90-95 had 215 HP....Is this guy Bullshitting because he also said he raced a 88 Mustang GT and lit his ass..which i barely beleive because there HP ratings are pretty much equilvalent...
