And thanks Steve for the post. I don't know how to do these things.

Since I'm a gimp, explain the rules of this class of car to me. Is it just that the engine has to have been a production engine or block? Because...obviously there was no production VH45DETT Z32 300ZX. How does this all work?

I'm going for class A stock production gas class. The body has to be a stock production car body. No streamlining or modifing of the body to enhance the aerodynamics of the car. The outside mirrors, radio antenna, windshield wiper blades and anything inside the car considered unsafe for the operation of the car can be removed. The engine has to be of the same manufacture as the car. All safety items as per automobiles running over 200MPH well be in place. Tires well be certified for the speed of the car. Cars running over 200MPH well have dual drag chutes as a backup for stopping.
The car is really a class D car, but being it's using dual superchargers is bumped up a class to class C, but I've choosen to run class A as the record is held by a friend of mine in a Corvette, and I feel it's only right I smoke his ass and then some. Just last month the worlds record was set for class F 3.0L cars. Heres the post my friend sent me the day they broke the record.

Carlson Racing sponcered by RaVer Motorsports set a new world record at last week's world finals held by SCTA and BNI on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The car ran in F, Blown Grand Touring (3.0 liter max, two seater, no body mods allowed for aerodynamics, turbocharged on gas, partial interior required). The car is owned by Greg Carlson and was driven by his son Kenny Carlson. The previous record was set by "Dandy" K. Tanaka (I believe he is the owner of the Japanese magazine Options ; he’s a great and humble guy who I had the honor to meet at this year's Speedweek last August). Tanaka's record was set 14 years ago at 222+mph. We reset it to 224+mph, and I see LOTS of potential for next year.

While we received zero additional sponsorship I would like to thank the following contributors...some for simply providing good products regardless of the costs, others for giving generously by way of good advise or free/almost-freeware:

Wolf Technologies
We purchased JWT billet cams/springs, two '81 280ZX
Sport 400s with internal waste gates, dual pop intakes,
and Jim/Clark provided extensive insights as well as setting up the
original parameters in our stock ECU’s ROM

RC Engineering modified our stock injectors to flow 928cc without leaks Smile

Eric's Conzult datalogging was extremely valuable

Mike AKA Extensive provided us with EcuControl for quick editing of the
maps, and his diy interface allowed us to use Eric's Conzult for
datalogging.

Ztech provided a forum to trade ideas on

TechEdge's wide band O2 in conjunction with Justin Luton's 'logging
software

Cherrypicker provided the original information that convinced me to
ditch the Haltech and pursue tuning the factory ECU

Thanks also to anyone else we may have forgotten, sorry. This project was undertaken on a very small budget (by comparison to most other competitors in this class) so success is all the more sweet.

This is a victory for ALL Nissan enthusiasts!
Vernon, owner of RaVer Motorsports

Now all owners 300ZXTT Z32's have bragging rights. Nothing in the world in the 3.0 L class can claim this. This is the worlds fastest 3.0L car, period.

Heh heh heh...fucking destroyed their asses

Anyway, this is going to be some wickedly evil stuff going down, I'm tempted to say I'd drive down to the flats to see it (and if not there, where ever the hell you are doing it).

Can do. There's 3 sponsors involved and I'm sure their well be lots of videos to go around. I hate sponsors, but there a end to the means.
