More Blinker Problems
The blinkers on the left side of my car are out. The back blinker/brake & the front side blinker. The brake light socket is melting the probes into the plastic base of the bulbs. And I can't even get to the front blinker. It's on the side and I can't figure out how to even reach it.
I was getting ready to take the back socket out and replace it. But I'm concerned that it's more than a faulty socket. What should I be looking for? Wiring? Both front and back sockets? Bad fuse? I just replaced the brake light bulb two days ago & the socket has already melted the prong into it. After driving for about 20 minutes this morning, I took the bulb out & the socket and bulb were both warm even though the temps outside are in the 40s. So I'm guessing that there is power going to it, but maybe too much?? I'm so lost with this @!%$*& car!! Please help if you can! Thanks Mouse |

Re: More Blinker Problems
To get to the front blinkers you have to remove the plastic shroud, and remove the headlight assembly. mabey a melted fuse?

I figured out what was wrong with the stupid car. The freaking socket needed bulb grease. Of all the stupid things auto makers come up with!! Just scraped the gunk out of the socket, greased the prongs inside and on the bulb & it's fine. I have the bulbs needed for the front-side signal... but I'm not overly concerned with that for the moment. I'll get back to that when it's warmer out. Thanks Tweak & others who responded to my other threads. Much appreciated!! Mouse96 |
