looking at a stock 99 GST wednesday.

hello everyone,

I'm looking at a 1999 Eclpise GST at a dealer ship on wednesday.

the low down

asking $9,995
71k miles
red with tan interior
manual
Factory Premium 16" chrome wheels
Factory Premium stereo system

Bone stock to my knowledge

here is the autotrader link with all the info http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...r=&cardist=200

So any advice? I blue booked the car at suggested retial value at $10.7k

Is this a good buy? its better and harder to find the turbos that aren't modified right?

thanks

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I'd carfax it first though, just to make sure it was clean.

i would use www.nada.com that's what 3/4 of dealers use. kelly blue book always has a higher value so try NADA and see what you end up with.

nada valued it at $10,075, kelly blue book valued it at $10,570, so either way they are asking less than either. So if i could get it out the door for $9,995 i'd have a good deal.

Car fax came up clean, no recals out, and no accidents etc.

thanks for the advice. i'm so happy because as of today its still there. i'll call wednesday morning to make sure before i go. I'm bringing a buddy and if we think its good, its mine plain and simple. I'd much rather go through a dealership because they can deal with the financing, tax, title, temp plates and i bet i could get then to run it through PA state inspection.

Had to search for MONTHS to find my GS-T that i bought stock, probably better to build from ground up. Anyhow, boost is good. Good luck and *hopefully* welcome to the family...so to say... .

hate to burst anyone's bubble but alot of states are "privacy states" which means that the insurance/body shops/police don't have to report the accidents. so it could of been in wrecks just never reported. just cause carfax says its clean doesn't mean it is. my dads truck has been in 4 major accidents and carfax says its clean. so check really closely. just thought i'd let you kno that lil interesting fact

well its time to welcome me to the land of dsm gods!!!

i looked at the car today. All i have to say is WOW!!! it was in totally mint condition, paint, interiour, engine, chrome rims all perfectly mint. paint job looks like it was painted yesterday.

Car comes with a 3 month - 4k miles full warrenty!!! which i didn't even know till i saw it! And car has a current state inspection sticker.

99 GST went for $9995, $10730 out the door. complete stock car, except it's been lowered about an inch to 1 1/2" with shocks and springs. Car drives like a dream. cept when i stalled it once, but thats cause i suck at manual and don't really know how to dirve it.

other good news is that i've been approved for my car loan already, got a 3 year loan. I'm so happy. I just need to close the loan, get insurence, get a PA licence (i recently moved here from ohio)

look for me with tons of noob questoins in about 2 weeks!! be nice cause i do use the search feature!!

again welcome me from the land of "honduh" to the land of the DSM gods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

i was just about to say that...i have friend who is a dealer and he told me the same thing. he fixes cars all the time that came from an auction partially damaged and carfaz says they are clean witha clean title, when in fact they are rebuilt salvage...anyways im sure your car isnt one of these, but welcome to the DSM world!!
