Talking How bout doing burnouts in the ice and snow?

Winters almost here and the fun is about to begin. I'm thinking about going in the school parking lot and doing donuts and burnouts just for the hell of it to the kids who make fun of me with my little hatch. I can't wait to see their faces, but I've been thinking and is it safe to do this? I know your not physically touching the pavement if theirs ice, but will it still hurt your tire in any way? Maybe it'll get so cold, it'll get hot But this sounds awesome to do when your bored and it's snowed outside in a parking lot.

But why a spare motor if you keep the rpms around say 4 or 5k, your not really pushing the motor hard if you can get the tires to spin and then you got it made.

Re: How bout doing burnouts in the ice and snow?

its ok for ur tires but dangerous as hell for u and ur car. just go in a snowy field or something its more fun. Plus cops will bust u for it. Me and my friend were in an all ice parking lot in his truck last winter doin donuts and all (not going fast) and it was fun but pretty scary bc we almost hit a light pole. Plus we got pulled over and all, but he let us go with a verbal warning saying... "If your gonna do it, go somewhere i wont see you. Have fun and be safe." we were like "OMG i cant believe he let us go."

I mean, we aren't going to be doing it with cars and light poles around. The school's parking lot is basically a huge asphalt that has no trees or light poles but plenty of room to do it. And we would only do it for a few minutes, not all day.

been there... done that

snow tires+ 2000 rpms = fun fun fun fun fun!

best is reverse donuts, start slow then nail it, and see if u can spin the other way while doing it without losing momentum

I really don't have to do it in the school parking lot, but the church parking lot is great cause it's large too. I'll just have to pick a day (other than sunday) to it and I might be able to get my friends protege and grand am to see who can do the most donuts. It's gonna be great.

Re: How bout doing burnouts in the ice and snow?

I've been caught doing doughnuts in the snow last winter. Like 20 people went tubing like less than 5 minutes from the city where I live, and afterwards we were driving back to one of my buddies' house. On the way, we passed by a large parking lot, and one of my other buddies was with me in the car, so I decided to show off, as everyone was passing by, I was spinning doughnuts, and drifting. Then a cop came, and pulled me over. It went something like this:

Officer: Do you know why I'm pulling you over?
Me: No sir, I don't
O: What were you doing in that parking lot over there?
M: Well, I lost control of my car, because it the road was so slippery.
O: Three times? I saw you spin three times.
M: I'm a slow learner, officer

Then he goes back to his cruiser with my licence (1 previous ticket for 65 in 55). Meantime, everybody is calling my cell phone, but I don't pick up

LIke 10 minutes later he comes back

O: Well, since I've never pulled you over before myself, I decided to let you off with a verbal warning. You kids might think that doing doughnuts is fun, but they can be very dangerous. What will happen if you hit a dry spot?
M: I was being careful, I wasn't going that fast.
O: Well, if I catch you doing them again, you won't be so lucky.
M: Thanks officer for the warning

Then for the rest of the evening I was the butt of all jokes.

Depending on where you live you can attend SNOWCROSSes (autocross in the snow). NEPA region (http://www.nepascca.org) hosts about 3-5 events. This past year we had that huge snow storm and there was about 4' of snow on the lot

No events around me. I'll stick with parking lots.
