Transplant Help!!! What will I need?

Hi I got a 91 Civic Si With a B18A1 swap.(91 Acura Integra) But now I got my eye on a 93 civic coup DX or something. My 91 is a standard and the 93 is an auto what else do I need to TRANSPLANT this? Will the clutch peddels out of my 91 fit a 93 or will I have to swap in another gearbox?(Hydrolic/cable). And what about mounts wiring ECU........

Thanks

Re: Transplant Help!!! What will I need?

Well, illegal to swap an older motor into a newer car. And the 93 uses a hydraulic tranny not a cable. That would cost a lot to convert from auto to manual then buy the mount and shit to convert from hydraulic to cable. Not worth it IMO.

Besides 4th gen hatches > *

Well I'm In Canada and I never herd of any laws like that here. I know the 92+ civics have hydrolic and mine is cable but is there a way for me to swap my peddels and use cable?? Will the stock integra mounts bolt up and as for wireing will I need a distributer and ecu from a 94+ integra or can I mod the 91 wiring somehow?? I will need a cluster as well but I not worried about that yet.

Thanks for the reply!!

hey man i am looking at doin the kinda the same swap if you should be able to use the pedals and i think you will have to drill a hole in the firewall for the clutch cable and you would have to use the tranny that golts to the B 1.8

ah, didn't know you were Canadian, well if that isn't an issue you want 5th gen civic pedals and the bracket and everything from Hasport

If the peddels from a 5th gen are for hydrolic how will that work a cable?? And what do I need from hasport? Can I use the stock mounts from the integra? And wiring what do I do? I haven't really looked at the ecu and stuff but I'm sure it's different so will I look for the dizzy and ecu first or can I mod mine somehow?

Thanks again

Ok I see what you mean!! I need the peddels and slave cylinder from a 5th gen and than get the conversion kit from hydrolic to cable? But what about the rest? Wireing and mounts!!

You can ditch the cable tranny if you want and just hook up a Hydraulic tranny to the motor. All B-series trannys are interchangable, and this may prove to be an easier route. Any B-series tranny will work. Otherwise you'll need the cable conversion kit from Hasport (M92-CC).

As for the ECU, runnig the ECU you have is not a good idea, as it is non-OBD and the 5th gen civic chassis is OBD-I. If the motor was a 92-93 you could use a 94-95 PR4 ECU. However your's is a non-OBD 91, so I doubt that would work. I suppose depending on Candian laws, you may be able to get away with your ECU, though I do not know. Your 90-93 Teg axels should work fine, though you may have to change the intermediate shaft seal in left side of the tranny depending on your axle-tranny combonation (if keep the tranny you have and do the cable conversion you shouldn't have to do this). If you prefer not to mess with that, 94+ teg axles, 94-97 Del Sol vtec axels and 99-00Si axles wil all work fine also.

You will want to use 94+ Integra shift linkage to swap this into the 5th gen. You'll use a 94 integra LS lower radiator hose and a 94 Del Sol vtec upper radiator hose. Since your motor is a 91 B18A1, you'll also want to replace the distributor and injectors with ones from a 92-93 B18A1 or a 94-95 B18B1. If the civic has A/C you can keep it buy using the Del Sol Vtec A/C bracket.

For the mounts, you can use a combo of the stock teg mounts if you go with a hydro tranny. For this though you'll want to change the mounts on the rear of the engine and under the timing belt though for ones from the appropriate year. If you use a Cable tranny, I m not sure, though I have heard Hasport has a mount kit for this swap that includes the cable tranny conversion. You'd want to look into that though if you were interested.

What year ECU, harness and distributer will I need to swap to obd1?? I was told 92-93?? Are the mounts from a 92-93 integra any different from the 91 integra? will those bolt up?? The hydrolic to cable conversion is only $200.00 US so thats not bad its just a matter of finding the parts I need for wiring and the mounts I will need other than the stock ones that can be used.

Thanks

Re: Transplant Help!!! What will I need?

92-95 is OBD1. The mounts in the 2nd gen teg are the same as 3rd tegs.
