Question Wipers with mind of their owm

My 97 Burb has a wiper problem that causes them to stop anywhere they want. If I turn the control to the mist they wipe 10 to 15 times then stop halfway instead of going once, and if I use the intermittent mode the do the same thing and if you shut them off they keep going! I have to shut the truck off to get them to stop and time it so they park in the down position. I also noticed the squirters don't work when this is happening. And it doesn't do it all the time, sometimes it works perfect. I noticed they sell a "delay wiper board" could this be it?

Re: Wipers with mind of their owm

I just found the other thread about this problem and I hope the 97s are included in the recall.

wipers with mind of their own

I am having the exact same problem with my 98 suburban. Any luck on finding the fix? I have searched the GM recall and there is none for this problem.
