got a 91 eclipse gsx with a blown automatic tranny. Recyclers want a $1000 FOR ONE BUT I CAN GET A JDM ONE for about 600, my question is does a jdm automatic tranny work with a US engine and Drive shaft? Any advise would help thanks

Re: do trannies match

I don't think that would work, cause JDM is for hondas. If I'm wrong ->

JDM (Japinese Domestic Market) anything made in japan, sold in japan, has a *JDM*. yes. including JDM hondas, but not only hondas. you can get any Japanese JDM for any japanese vehical, honda, toyota, nissan, eclipes, isuzu, exc.

I think scottsee was talking to me to help me out.

What is with these people and their shitty attitudes? They come to the forum, ask for help, and then insult the people trying to help. This is the second or third time I've seen this.

Not to be a biotch, but the world does not revolve around you. If you spent the least bit of time here in this forum you would realize that people who act civilized get their questions answered, unless it was a question that is easily answered through searching or the FAQ.

Just a little advice... Take it or leave it.

do the fto's come with 4g63? did the galant VR=4 come with it? i think they did. listen im not trying to sound cocky or bitchy or what ever other names you might have for me. all i asked was a simple question, then i started to get chasidised about jdm is honda only. i took it as an insult to my itelligence. i now comprehend that it was not a blow at my intelligence but a valid assumtion, so to the person with a cat and a girl playing cards i appoligize.Sorry. im just used to being the one answering questions, about hondas and knowing the answer. now that i dont know anything i feel like im some sort of mechanically declined person
i was asking the question because if im not mistaken the 5 speed tranny will not bolt up to the drive shaft of an automatic transmission, at least in an all wheel drive application. i am also unsure if the mounts are the same from a JDM 4G63 FTO OR GALANT VR-4 seeing how they are DIFFERNT CARS but with the same power plant. again i say thank you for any ADVISE on the subject or constructive criticism.

Re: do trannies match

a 5speed will bolt up to a automatic drive shaft.

eclipse's are not jdm since they are made in america.

a jdm trans from another car probably wont work even if the car has a 4g63.

shep racing does a fulll stock rebuild for 900. they also do race rebuilds.
