How to install a cold air intake

I just purchased a 96 Saturn DOHC i believe its an sl1. However I am purchasing an air intake for it and I was wondering how to install it because this model is from ebay and does not come with installation instructions (Wack right). Anyways if anyone has advice or knows how to install the air intake let me know.

Re: How to install a cold air intake

I have never worked on a saturn but it is pretty simple, Remove the stock airbox and bolt the intake on. Connect any tubes that would connect to the stock airbox and bam your gone! Once you get the part in and get the stock airbox out it should be pretty simple. Good luck!

sorry to say its not, lots of companys repackage eclipse intakes, which happen to fit saturns, but the mounting brackets they give you are worthless.

Okay I didn't know you could get a DOHC in an SL1 but anyway, I bought a cold air intake from ebay (cp products with k&n filter). I didn't put the second pipe on cuz it didn't have instructions either. I emailed them and got the instructions a week later. You have to cut part of the (i think it's this) inner fender liner. I didn't want to do this so the short ram part remains on my car and the second pipe in the trunk. It's alright as a short ram but the IAT sensor hole is in the other pipe so it kinda sucks. What i did to install the short ram part is i removed the entire air filter box, the stock pipe and pulled out the IAT sensor. I installed the pipe and encountered a small problem, the bottom of the filter (metal) was touching the upper radiator hose. First I removed the plastic cap on top of the radiator to give the hose some room to move around and then I bought two washers and a long screw with some nuts and sort of made a support in front of the throttle body; there is an oval shaped metal thing don't know what it is. some of the filter goes up in the cloth stuff under the hood (some insulation or something, don't know) but works fine.

Make sure the intake will work for SOHC. I think the one for DOHC are different.
