recommended fluid
I have a 78 chevy truck with a 2 speed powerglide. What type tranny fluid should I use? And what happens if I use a type A fluid in the existing fluid?

I thought powergluide's were not used past the mid-1960's. I think they use dinosaur juice.

Re: recommended fluid
Hehe, dinosaur,
I'd say dexI or dexII because its not a new transmission and dex III could damage the seals.

Re: recommended fluid
Just to let you know that factory bulletin 57-02-01 states Dextron III is fully compatible with all GM automatics built since 1949.
Just sharing my factory info...Not trying to prove anyone wrong

Hmm, ok, it just says not to use dex 3 in my tranny. Only II or IIE
