Have you checked.
1. Starter
2. Starter Solenoid - check for wore out starter wire. 3. Battery cables. Both - check for build up. 4. Battery is dying. Has all the stuff above been replaced? If not then it is time. I had all kinds of start problems in the past. What could be happening. You have more amps in a battery in a cool state. When you drive the truck around the battery loses a little power because of heat. So when you shut the truck off and try to start again the starter is pulling more amps from the battery in which it does not have.. What causes this - Worn Out starter. If this is happening soon or later your battery will burn up or the solenoid. Here is the best one: You turn the key the truck starts but the starter does not turn off until you disconnect the battery. SWEET! Why: The starter was pulling so many amp that the solenoid was welded closed. |

Not all that mechanically inclinded myself, but I have encountered a similar problem in the past, which turned out being a faulty neutral saftey switch.

Told You!
I told you.
Those battery cables are a pain. I just had one go back on my winch. It was sending 12v but 0 AMPS. |
