Oh my god...you're an idiot.

I stopped by the supermarket tody after work to get some milk. I get out of the car and I'm walking the ten miles across the lot to the entrance (I like to park VERY FAR away...you're soon to understand why).

So this middle-aged woman in a newer model Intrepid comes around the corner, goes to park in a space and totally smashes a stack of three shopping carts (quite hard) with her front right.
Now first of all, there are numerous empty spaces on both sides of her car, yet she:
1) Decides to park in the space WITH THE CARTS IN IT and,
2) Quite obviously SEES the carts, yet cannot manage to avoid HITTING them.

Even better, she gets out of her car and walks into the store without even so much as a casual glance at the potential damage she has just done to her car (which looked nasty enough from where I was standing).

Now I'm wondering if this woman purposely rammed the carts out of the way with her car, or is just a completely oblivious idiot. I hate generalizing, so I can't make a blanket statement and say that all women are terrible drivers with no respect for their cars...but one wonders why you don't see many female car enthusiasts here. Just scary...

man, it's people like that who scare me from trusting anyone in a parking lot. (i.e. parking next to people)

she probably just doesnt give a shit. We used to live next to people who had 2 company cars, and did stuff like that all the time ( using the car to push the skip along the driveway, etc). I remeber once when the lady was reversing out the driveway and didnt quite manage to be parralel to the fence, and scraped it, she didn't even bother going forward to straighten the car out but continued to reverse for about 10 meters with the fender screeching on the concrete fence.

Re: Oh my god...you're an idiot.

personally when i drive, i tend to park in the boonies cause I hate it when i come back and there's a scratch or something. so while i probably am one of those "women" drivers...some say that I have road rage and i tend to drive a little on the fast side especially without paying attention but in the parking lot...I'm pretty careful.

That kind of reminds me of something I saw a little while ago... I was out having a few drinks with some coworkers one night, sitting in a bar at a table overlooking an open patio, sidewalk, and the street.

A woman in an SUV, an Expedition I think, was attempting to parallel park in a fairly large open spot directly in front of the bar. She starts to back into the spot, totally misjudges the angle, her speed, and the dimensions of her vehicle and hits the car behind her pretty hard. Realizing her mistake, she pulls out and repeats the process, including another impact with the car behind her. She's done slightly better this time though and tries to cut the front end back in and salvage the parking job. Again being completely unaware of her vehicle's size, she hits the car in the spot front of her.

By now people in the bar are starting to notice this with a mixed reaction of shock, anger, and uncontrolled laughter. She realizes that she's still too far away from the curb, pulls out, backs in, and hits the car behind her AGAIN. Everyone within sight of this is going nuts, she's totally flustered and decides to abandon the job altogether and starts to pull away.

For reasons I will never understand, other than perhaps being way more intoxicated than I thought, one of the guys I work with then picks up his pint glass and throws it across the patio, sidewalk, and into the street where it narrowly misses the fleeing vehicle and hits the pavement in a small explosion of glass and Bass ale.

The woman made her daring escape, and we were all kicked out of the bar... I guess there were sort of two idiots in that story...

Re: Oh my god...you're an idiot.

funny story kublah. hehe

I tend to park farther away from stores. I hate trying to park my truck in between cars, half the time one side is way to close to another car. I also dont want anyone throwin a door into the truck and leaving scratches and dents

Re: Oh my god...you're an idiot.

These are the same type of people that run down someone and leave them behind. Just like that poor reporter Sade Baderinwa (shes ok thank god) on ABC ch 7 (east coast). She was reporting on the bad rain storm we had months ago, and she got struck after her report-and has several broken bones. The driver-NO WHERE TO BE FOUND.

About 5 months ago, this teenage girl was killed on hempstead turnpike by a hit and run driver, the driver is still at large... Police say its a 89-93 ford taurus (blue) that did it.

Some people just don't give a f**k, period. How much i bet those two hit and run drivers i mentioned don't feel any regret-till this day. It's purely unbelievable. I can't even describe what anger i feel when i hear of these things. Kublah, i mean, that bitch should have gotten her ass out, and contacted the drivers of the other cars-AT LEAST.

Re: Oh my god...you're an idiot.

BTW, forgot to mention.. You have to be aware of you surroundings at all times. Walking on a sidewalk, crossing a street, at a stop light, whatever. Cause you don't have to worry about yourself (hopefully your a good driver), you have to watch out for that 45 year old, mother of 3 soccermom thats high on dope. Or the 30 year old cop spun on crank-it happens, ANYONE can be a danger to you, watch your ass at all times.

Re: Oh my god...you're an idiot.

^I think they are. I park sorta far away. I'm the one who likes to fly into the parking lot, cross four lots and jam on the brakes taking up four spaces. Or come flying in in the S2K and ebrake it into a spot. Keeps people away if they watch you do it.

I always park far far far away. So far people make me drop them off before I park. I also have some road rage and drive a little on the fast side. Okay alot of road rage and way on the fast side. On the highway rarely I am not doing 80 or more. What really ticks me off is when people look at someone who got pulled over. WHY??? I dont understand the big deal.
