96+ R33 and R34 that were Legalise by Motorex

Was there a recall on all the 96+ R33's and R34's after Motorex had already legalise them?

Re: Re: 96+ R33 and R34 that were Legalise by Motorex

Yes, of course they did.

....and no, there was no recall. Once the DOT approved them, they are approved. They can't come and take them back as it would be extremely unfair to consumers....especially second hand buyers who did have the assurance of the U.S. government that the car is 100% legal.

These cars are legal in every respect....

There is at least one R33 floating around for sale. There are only 8 R34's in the country. Good god d@mn luck on getting ahold of one of those. The Nur sold for something over 100k a year ago.....
I think there's something like 25 or 30 R33's.

I stand corrected...

Please note that I said "THINK".

Re: 96+ R33 and R34 that were Legalise by Motorex

There's more than 8 Skylines in the states, well, R34's. and emissions my friend, emissions. the Skyline wasn't technically ever legal in the states, for they were never on market. Motorex ships them over, but they aren't the only ones- They just happen to spend the money to get their hands on them. As long as you can convert your Skyline into passing emissions, then there is no problem. Nissan didn't want to spend all that money on changing emissions, to sell to an American market that wouldn't buy them as they would any other car. Remember, Americans are stupid in the name of Imports. They don't know what they want. How many people would buy Skylines once released? I hear Nissan is making their SECOND attempt to release the Skyline to the American market, with WHP touched down a notch. I have heard it is to look like a 350Z? I don't know.

Before spouting nonsense....study up. It is NOT just emissions. There are a host of other issues in legalizing Skylines. They are NOT illegal just for emissions.

Obviously you don't read the highlighted IMPORTANT posts or you would of seen these. Some of the things that need to be changed to make a Skyline meet DOT specs. Sounds like some custom fabricating and alot of work to me.

crash testing was the most important think my friend, not emissions. you obviously have no clue what you are talking about....but somehow think you are "in the know." its been proven time and time again, crash testing is where its at.
