radiator warning light ?

I think the radiator warning light on my 1996 Grand Am came on. It is a red light with a rectangular box with a down arrow and some wavy lines on the bottom.

Questions :

1. Where is the radiator cap for this car ? I want to refill my radiator.

2. Is the radiator overflow reservoir the only place to add fluid to the radiator ?

3. Can I use "radiator stop leak" on this car ? The car dealer said that my water pump is leaking. I would get it fixed if it does not cost close to $1000.

4. Is there a place where I can get the owner's manual for this car ?

Thanks !

Re: radiator warning light ?

Reservoir is the tank itself, that is where the cap is. Should be on the passanger side on the wheel well.

Radiator stop leak shouldn't hurt your car, that's what they make it for. It shouldn't be that difficult to change a water pump. I have done it on a few different cars and can be easily done in an afternoon.

You should be able to get an owners manual from the dealership, I would recommend getting a haynes manual instead. It will give you all the info a factory manual will and a lot more. They are about $15.
