Re: Is GS worth buying?

The difference is in HP and potiential. Most ppl buy Ls and Gs and do conversions to make it into a GSR. The difference between the LS and GS is a few hp and some luxury items. I would say go for the GSR or Type R and you will be taking out LS and GS;s stock!!! (if you know how to shift right)

Re: Is GS worth buying?

The LS and GS (and RS) have the same motor, the b18b1. Between LS/GS and GSR there's a difference of around 28hp GSR having more), however the LS/GS has a few more torque. I believe all came with at least an option for moonroof (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Also the GS-R had the option for leather.
GS: leather interior, power everything. 15" rims
LS: power everything, 14" rims
GS-R: Rear spoiler, sport suspension, 15" rims
I'm sure there are more differences than just those, so hopefully someone else who's knowledgable can help you better.

Re: Is GS worth buying?

GSR's can be really hard to find in some places. keep your money and your eyes open, you'll be glad you waited!

Re: Is GS worth buying?

GSR has more torque than the Ls motors. The b18b just makes its peak torque alot sooner. It is extremely easy to beat an LS with a GSR, i dont care how bad of a driver someoneis. GSR also has better handling. If you are planning on not spending much money on your car after you get it, GSR is the way to go. If you plan on serious upgrades, such as Turbo, then an LS motor would be a good idea

Re: Is GS worth buying?

I saw an ungodly amount of mistakes in this thread.

All 94-01 Integras come with 15' wheels. (except the JDM ITR which came with 16's for a couple of years)

How does the GS-R handle better than an LS? Is there a diff in the stock suspension?

All Integra's have an option of leather depending on the year (except the ITR)

To answer your question IWITR, which one you should get will depend on your plans for the car. Are you going for performance? If so, do you plan to Turbo? If so, I'd save the money and go with an LS/GS/RS. If your going performance and not sure about turbo or not, go with the GS-R. It's a safe choice.

PS, The type r, and GS-R are the only integra's that come with vtec.

Re: Is GS worth buying?

I read the wheel size thing off of a web site, do you're right I'm probably wrong. And I honestly though I had put the leather as an option (at least) for all but clearly I didn't, that was also my mistake. But yes the GS-R has a different suspension than the LS.

Re: Is GS worth buying?

CivicSpoon is right on the suspension, the GSR's is different. I've driven both quite a bit and the difference between the two suspensions was noticible but not very significant, very slight difference in actual handling IMO.

Re: Is GS worth buying?

I always thought it was just czu the GSR had the tie bar and maybe thicker sway bars.

but manny youre wrong about the LS vs GSR thing, I was in a stock 4 door LS and we raced a lightly modded GSR hatch and from a 40mph roll we held til towards end of 3rd and then he baerely pulled on us and he had a pasenger as well. and at the track I once saw a couple of friends come in a 00 LS and a 99 GSR and the GSR guy only was hitting like real high 15's and the kid with the LS was running 16 flats, 16.1's. could tell by watching they both sucked at driving but the GSR was getting off the line much better than the kid with the LS.

but I agree from a roll in 3rd on the freewya its GSR hands down.

94-01 GSR rims are 15"...94-97 GS/LS/RS are 14"....98+ GS and LS are "15....98+ RS have 14"
