need timing advance help

I just completed a performance rebuild on my 86 22re and need some help adjusting the timing. i cant figure out what to do in regards with the 2 plugins on the drivers side. from what i understand, one is suposed to be grounded to avoid the computer doing an automatic advance, but i dont know which prongs on which of the two plugs need to be grounded or whatever needs to be done to them.

the rebuild consists of new .02 bored bottom end, head milled .020 for a 10.2:1 compression, full port and cleaned up chambers, 40 and 48 mm valves, 444 lift cam at 268 duration, new oil and h20 pump, fuelfilter, timing chain, pacesetter header, 2 1/4 exhaust, electric fan, msd6a and coil, and a thousand other little things. Any help on the timing and any thoughts would be great! Thanks!

Re: need timing advance help

Connect timing light, start vehicle and let it idle, short terminals T and E1 from check connector. Slowly turn distributor until timing mark on the crank pulley is 5 BTDC. Torque distributor bolts to 16 ft lbs. Remove jumper wire from check connector and check to see that the timing advanced to 12 BTDC.

hope this helps
