Question Questions about an HX

I just had a few questions about my car and this forum seemed to be pretty helpful from what I've read. I have an HX and when I go to look for parts for my car all i ever see is parts for EX and whatnot. I have a friend who has an EX and his engine looks the same other than the fact that his says Vtec on it. Will these EX parts work on the HX? The manual says I have a Vtec, websites say it's a Vtec, everything says my car has a Vtec but it doesn't say on the valve cover. Any info is appreciated

I think the biggest difference is in the transmissions. The HX is designed for high mileage, and with the vtec motor it has the CV transmission which only takes honda CV transmission fluid. The CV is an automatic 3 speed with electronic rpm control, so you do not feel it shift. I believe everything else is the same.

If I am wrong some one please correct me

Re: Questions about an HX

i know plenty about my hx,
a: its slow
b: it is designed from high mileage under, 2500 rpms

the websites were lazy didnt put the e after vtec, we have a vtec-e. the other websites just dont even know about hxs because they are ghey
anyway, under 2500 rpms, the engine only runs on 8 valves, while other cars usually run at 16 at all times, after 2500 rpms we hit 16 valves. and that is it.
anything related to the intake area is ex'ish while anything relating to the exhaust is dx'ish, if you really want to know the exact specifics of the hx engine, with the rockers and valves and such, get a haynes or helms manual.
also the hx has 11.75 lb rims

hx vs ex

hx has the y5 head.
ex has the y8 (I believe) the y8 is the nice head to have. I currently researching swap options.
