'69 Firebird fuel injection

Im trying to find a way to get a turbocharger onto my firebird. I know the basics of turbos and am pretty knowlagable with engines in general. the main issue here is whether or not to go with throttle body injection. Holley has a 670 cfm kit that I know i could adapt to my project but right now im running 2x600cfm carbs. i know i can get bigger injectors to supplement the fuel intake, but what about the air? a 670 cfm throttle body is a mighty big choke compared to 1200 CFM. BUT im adding the turbocharger. will the choke matter with boosted air? im loking to run around 12-14 psi of boost and have nailed down everything but the fuel system. I want to do this as cheap as possible as long as it works.

engine at a glance: pontiac 400 stroked to 462, 800ish HP, solid roller cam, soon to change to hyd-roller for street friendlyness.

You could just blow through the carbureator, yes this has been done before and is quite popular, and much much cheaper than fuel injection. I can direct you to some good help if you are interested.

If you're engine is already 800hp, and you're still going to add a turbo, you don't need to worry about street friendliness. You probably don't need to worry about adding a turbo either because you're not going to be able to lay that much power to the ground.

Re: '69 Firebird fuel injection

Highly recommend you look at Pontiac Dude's ProCharger system. It's a complete, ready-to-install blower system, considered by most V8 people, to be superior to turbochargers, with less maintainence and more power.
That 462 isn't going to rev too high, so a blower would also give more low-speed response.
You should get Jim Hand's new book "How to Build Max-performance Pontiac V8s", to get a good idea what's going on in the Pontiac "world" today. Latest study of an antique power plant, that still makes EVERYONE nervous when they show up at the track. After all, GTO didn't get it's reputation from loosing...

Anyone who thinks any kind of FI will make more power than a turbo doesn't know much about FI. maintainance shouldnt be an issue with either.
