i have the struts out of the car and i have to remove the top bolt and it says theres a special socket made for it. How do i remove this bolt?

I usually clamp the springs before removal and remove that bolt while it is still bolted to the car on the bottom. Good Luck.

I usually brake the nut loose while still on car also. but if u hav strut off car and hav spring compresser already on it, you can take a wrench and turn nut and hold strut bolt with another wrench(10mm) wrench,...as long as nut is not frozen on too tight then it should come off o.k.

make sure you have a spring compressor on when taking the nut off and on... i used an impact wrench..

Go to Sears and picked up a 21mm (& 22mm as my replacement struts use a larger bolt) offset box wrenches. Use a smaller 1/4 ratchet socket to hold the center rod and turn the offset box wrench on the nut... Oh, put some penetrating oil on also help...
