Transmission Help Please

Not sure if anyone read my last tread, but heres my drama problems with my 1985 D150 1/2 2WD Royel SE.

Well before I went out and got my self a used Rear End these are problems I had at Take off between 1st and 2nd gear I had Grinding noices and I thought the rear end was slipping(Im wrong again), Also really bad Vibrations(I thought it was coming from the back end) plus when letting off the gas I hear clicking sounds from under.

The outcome from a diffrent rear axle. The Grinding noices stopped, The clicking is still there, the slipping is still there, and the freakin VIBRATIONS STILL THERE!!. so 3 out of 4 still remain l0l, So $300 got me pretty much no where, and the funny part is even a mech. shop told me that it was the rear end.(Watch out for those MAM and POP shops I suppose lol)

Final thoughts: Could it just be the Torque Converter clicking, slipping, and vibrating or is it the whole transmission?

Your Thoughs Please. Thanks

Re: Transmission Help Please

Probably Not Much Help But I Had A Toyota Once Very Similar Except.found 1 Bad U Joint That Wiped Out 2 Trans Replaced That And No Vibration But The Slipping And Clicking Stuck Around. Ended Up The Slip Yoke Was Slipping. Sucks When You Find That Out 50 Miles From Nowhere And I Assume That Toyota Is Still There. Good Luck

Re: Transmission Help Please

thanks for the advise bro.
Guess ill invest in a new or used Driveline, I had already replaced the U-Joints, infact there not even a month old, the yokes could be one of the problems. Thinking back about 1 1/2 weeks ago I took along drive out site seeing with the truck, I live in the desert and there's alot of hills/mountains. After that long drive is when the Slipping began to start. I took it for a short drive today just cause I love driving trucks, its slipping in just about any gear.

The good news is that I can buy a used tranny for $166 bucks at PIC A Part in las vegas. So Ill pick me up one with in afew weeks, along with a driveline.

Thanks again.

Re: Transmission Help Please

Well, I did take it to the shop 2 days ago, they called today and said my Tranny is GONE! That is the hard vibrations is from the tranny, and the slipping and the clicking sounds. They called me up saying its gonna cost $625 bucks 400 for the tranny 225 for the install. I said NOPE, Ill go get the part and install it myself . lol the guy was trying his best to rip me off. I even told him about the tranny I could get for 166 bucks, he replied we dont buy from them lol funny.
So my truck is back home with me and im happy, ill install the tranny myself for ONLY $166 bucks.

Cool. Might wanna replace the U joints too, while you've got it all apart.

Re: Transmission Help Please

Good luck! You'll probably need a really long extension to get the 2 bolts on the top of the bell housing.
