Bending resin

I have some thin resin parts that are slightly warped, and I was wondering how I could best bend them to shape. I know that you can use hot water, or a hairdryer on styrene, but I am afraid to melt away expensive aftermarket resin parts by the application of heat. What do you do?

I use the hottest tap water my fingers can handle to soften the resin. Once softened, bend and hold the part in the correct shape. Dip in ice water to fix in place.

For my SAS Supra hood I used a hair dryer. I applied quick passes getting the resin luke warm and gave slight pressure to the bend I needed. I repeated the steps until perfect.

After I got the hood where I wanted it I used an elastic hair band to keep the shape over night. Futhermore I taped the hood down to where I wanted it and applied more quick passes with a hair dryer.

The hood has stayed true for quite some time with no hint of distortion.
