the CPI "spider"

Does anyone have any experience working on the injection "spider". The one on my truck is leaky and needs to be replaced. I am thinking of tackling it myself if it is not to difficult. The shop I use is qouting $2-$300 for just install for the piece.

If there's a leak inside the intake , it'll be either the CPI regulator or one of the fuel supply lines.
Ten 10mm bolts lets you in after disconnecting the battery, electricals and rubbers. Lift the top easy and gently roll it over to the left. Not an unpleasant job.

Re: the CPI "spider"

If you have to replace the spider unit you can get the part at any local auto parts store and get the nut kit too. But you have to get that(nut kit) from the dealer. Clean all the old gasket material from the plenum. Job should take ya only 3/4 hrs. Clean the egr valve opening as well.
