96 Collector Edition ?
A good friend of mine just bought a clean fully optioned 96 Collector Edition Wagon. He asked me just what is so special about this car other than the "Collector Edition" hood ornament. Build date was June 96. Did Buick have a pre-planned limited production number for these cars or were all of the very last Roadmasters built called "Collectors Editions". Anyone know if these cars originally came with extra options as standard, special documentation, unique key fobs, etc... I told him I would post here to try to find out.
Thanks

I believe all 1996 Roadmasters were part of the "Collector's Edition". Buick knew this would be the last year for the full-size RWD Buick. This exact same hood ornament adorned the 1985 LeSabre, which was to be the last year for the full-size RWD Buick sedan (until 1992, after popular demand). I have a book with some info on those, and maybe I'll dig it out sometime.
