Alero rims on a mustang

ok, this sounds real stupid guys. sorry. lol but listen. winter is here and i need new tires for my mustang. the ones on it now are bald. i also dont want to mess up my 18" cobra rims in the snow and salt. so i have a set of Olds. Alero rims with 16" good tires off like a 2001 Alero. a few months ago when i was doing my breaks, i wanted to see if they fit and they fit right on. will they hold up on a mustang? i have a v6 so. the alero rims or front wheel drive rims right? if i can burn them up in the winter without screwing up my good rims, ill do that. what do you guys think?
