Hi guys, i have a 2002 cavalier, 4 dr. 2.2 liter. its got 55,000 miles on it. i have had it since day one and ive gone across country 5 times with it. never had a major problem until now..
the climate control knob has 4 positions for fan speed, low to high.. the 2 lowest settings dont do anything, its almost like the unit is off, barely any air comes out at all, heat or a/c.. but when i put it on the one of the 2 highest settings, it comes out really fast.. there is no happy medium and i know nothing about cars.. anybody know what this might be before i take it to the dealership and have them try to sell me crap i dont know if i need. Thanks. oh and also, behind the fan knob, my light is out.. will that be expensive to replace? Thanks! -Bill |

Re: 2002 Cavalier Climate Control Problem..
Your blower resistor is burned out. It's located on the fan housing. GM part number is 52476725. You can get them off the blower motors in Cavaliers in junkyards pretty cheap or go to the dealer or whatever.
It looks something like this:

You're welcome. As I said, its a pretty common problem.
