BBR Toyota TS020 '99

Not a competion entry this time, no real progress thread to this stage but I though you might be interested in some pictures as I'm building it.

This is a BBR 1:43 resin kit (I guess the pain pot is the give away!). The quality is excellent, good detail but still a nice simple build. Paint is Tamiya can paint shot through my airbrush, something I'm trying for the first time. The body still has some decals to do and the laquering. The chasis and tub are completed, the BBR carbon decal I added seems to have come out pretty well, you can just make it out in the photo, but it's far more subtle in real life. You just have to remeber that this picture is some what larger that the real thing! Anyway, let me know what you think and I'll be sure and keep you all updated.

Re: BBR Toyota TS020 '99

Picked it up last year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. I'll see if I can find the name of the guys I bought it from...

Quality wise it's just like SMS' stuff, but a much smaller weave. I don't use it that much as in reality you can't see it when a model is away in a display case.

Re: BBR Toyota TS020 '99

Quite nice.

BBR kits do go together well, except sometimes placing their flat windows on curved bodies. Hold on to the headlights while placing them. I kind of remember having to make some of my own when I built this kit. The one thing that BBR did in this kit was go with their standard wheel parts. They build up nicely. However in this case, you can see the flat back side of the front wheels. Provence Moulage, surprisingly, had just the wheel rim with a resin insert, so you wouldn't just have the solid back side of the wheel.

Might want to check www.grandprixmodels.com or www.little-cars.co.uk/ for the cf decals.

Thanks for the kind comments. Oddly enough your website has been at the top of my list for some time when looking for reviews of kit's I'm interetsed in! The comment about losing the lights was the give away.

I know what you mean about the PM wheels. I think I have a spare set floating around some where which I may be able to use... I'll have to dig through the parts bin and see what comes up!
