hey guys
a few months ago my beloved g was stolen. right now, i bought a 91 maxima cheap. i invested the 8,000 from the insurance. i can't believe they only gave me 8 when i had 2,000 in my 5zigen 5zrs and ground control/agx set up. in a 12-18 months i'm looking to get another p10 or p11. by then i'll have moved to a more secure location. i've been fantasizing about doing an AWD DET conversion of a p10 or p11. i've heard the p10 AWD only come with an auto. any of you non USA people have comments or insight about the AWD primera? anything would be appreciated. has anyone even tried this in the us? |

sorry to hear that....damn thieves
about your awd...it's gonna be difficult and u would need to chop a lot of stuff off your car and find new ones to put on haha.....first u need to get the awd tranny..then, figure out a way to turn your rear axle...meaning u need to get rear axles... i dont know too much about it but i did ask my tuning shop about it, and it's not an easy task...oh btw, you need about 2 gizillion bucks to do such conversion

that's what i thought. but it would be bitching. i heard the philipines had the awd primera. the philipines drive on the same side of the road. so what i was thinking as an option would be to import an awd primera. it might be marginally cheaper. thanks |

I was going to say, importing would be the better idea.

Ive got an AWD primera, 5spd. They do come in manual, but aren't very common. You could get one imported from Japan!
Doing the DET conversion can be quite cheap, if you live in New Zealand (Around $2000 NZ). Do you have turbo Nissan Bluebirds where you are. They are commonly called a SSS Altessa. You can use parts from one of these. They bolt onto the side of an SR20DE engine (IE the turbo, manifold etc.) They use the SR20DET engine, not the same one as the GTiR Pulsar (Sunny) tho. If you want any more info I did write something in another Post somewhere, buggered if I can remember where! I can probably write it up again if u want. Actually, Ill go searching now and see if I can find where I wrote it. |

Not that I know of.
Do you really want AWD? A guy who currently lives in Japan used to have an AWD. He said there was nothing really to it. Better corner speed/stability vs. more weight, less acceleration (in the dry in summer, but you don't really have winters in SoCal, do you?), poorer fuel consumption. Basically he said that he wouldn't go that way again. Better use that (great amount of) moneyon SR20VET or VE and putting a turbo on it. Could very well be that the VET will be available by the time you'll buy your next G20. I can't believe someone would steal it. Here in the past year the only cars that had been stolen were VW, Audi, MB, and BMW, and I mean it - only these. Feel your pain. CU

Id have to agree. They are slower accelerating but the handling is awesome. I probably wouldnt go with a 4wd next time, unless I was planning to whack on a big turbo!
I have read something on G20.net about a guy who had an AWD primera in the states (I guess it was left hand drive). He sold it and got a FWD. The only reason I got my AWD is that it was a bargain at the time. Same price as the FWD. Because they are quite rare, I do get a few questions about it, even offers to buy it! I think next time I will only get a 4WD car if it comes with a turbo attached (Mitsi Lancer Evolution! O yeh Baby!) |

PRIMERA MAN
Visit the page that is advertised at the top of the Forums called Lancerz. Its got some awesome pics. I think you mean have I seen the EVO 7. Yeh I have. A friend of a friend has rich parents. He is only 22 and they bought him an EVO6. If u read Performance Car Issue May, there is a write up on it. His number plate is EVIL VI. He has put in the big sound install, TV's for the passengers, playstation etc. That thing is F**K*N quick. The guy has to much money to spend. But I told him he can give it to me when he gets sick of it! |
