VTEC not working?

I have a 94' Honda Prelude S and I did an H22A swap in it. I had my vtec all wired into the computer, and one of my buddies ripped out the wires to the ecu on accident. I tried everything to get it working again but nothing seems to work. I don't know if its the computer or the solenoid, i've tried the stock h22a ECU and the upgraded one, both of them don't work, I dont want to buy another ECU. what should i do?

Re: VTEC not working?

Ummm, how in the world did he rip the wires out of the ECU? Sounds liek you either need to patch the wires back up there or get a new wiring harness and ECU.

Re: VTEC not working?

It sounds like a couple wires aren't completely connected on the ECU harness.

Re: VTEC not working?

There are certain wires you can pull out that will still start and drive the engine. The VTEC wire, for one. All it does is throw a CEL.

Yeah, it was the wiring. The other day I got motivated to get the VTEC working and I pulled all the wires out that I ran through the firewall to the ECU and rewired everything the correct way. So now it works great, WOW! I forgot how much power that motor had before that happened! Only one problem though, it still pours a lot of fuel into the chambers and it doesn't get burned. When that happens I'll be in fourth or fifth gear cruising at a constant speed, and the check engine light will come on???
I gotta find the service check connector to find out what code it's throwing.
