2001 T&C Transmission Problem

We have a 2001 T&C 3.8 with 60,000 miles. The transmission seems to be binding up. When driving in first gear the transmission binds up. I jacked the front end up and took off the wheels, I thought it could have been a brake problem, but when you put the transmission in gear you can see the transmission sort of lock up.

Has anyone experienced this? Please let me know what you think it could be.

Thanks

Re: 2001 T&C Transmission Problem

When was the last time you had you had your trany servised? (You know changed the fluid) And by who? Chrysler tranies can be a nightmare if not done just right. There was a post a few days ago from someone whos' trany gave out at 37,600 miles on an 2001 model. That was 1600 miles after the warrentee ran out. My 96 T&C is on it's second trany, lucky for me it was the previous owner that paid for it.

Re: 2001 T&C Transmission Problem

I have a T&C and it has just over 60K miles. Friday while doing 60 mph the van jerked violently as if I stepped on the breaks. The front wheels are now locked up and it had to be towed. Did you ever fine out the problem. Do you know of any one else who has had problems with the 2001 T& C transmission.

HMMMM,,,,,,it's either a problem with the planitary sets inside or the
differential,,,,,most of this "newer junk" is made with punched metal
parts,,,,that don't take much abuse to take-em out!!!! There are some
do's and dont's that will keep you out of the repair shop,,,,
