I Want to swap

alright, i know this doens't sound like the most intelligent thing, but i would like to put the 2.5L Turbo 2 engine in my 1990 3.0L V6 Daytona...here is the million dollar question...How much work is involved. what about engine mounts? what about computer? suspension? what aould be involved and is this even reccomended to do? and if it isn't...what kind of work would be involved in making the 3.0L faster, turbo wise? is there a kit? how does the Mitsubishi Engine work in the car? stuff like that...someone please respond with some good news with something

Re: I Want to swap

These G24 chassis are old and not very good platforms to start with. It is hard to find good info on them anymore. I don't think there is much you can do with the V6 as far as performance goes. The computers in these old cars suck as far a doing any mods. If you want a 2.2/2.5 turbo setup, you will need to find a complete car (even if it is salvage/wrecked) and move all of the setup over to yours (engine,trans,F/I, ignition, computer, wiring). There are some performance parts left for the Turbo setups, you will just have to look around the Internet.
I would suggest that you buy a 1st Gen Neon DOHC with a MTX and go from there, you can do wonders with these light weight cars.
If you want to mod something old, I would look for a solid L24 or L44 platform car (Omni, 024, Horizon, Turismo, Rampage, Charger). Some of these came with a Shelby GLHs turbo package, so I know you can put a turbo 2.2/2.5 into one of these. The L platform is (IMO) a better hot rod than the stupid G/P piece of crap chassis.

Yeah your better off with doing the swap to an L body, doing it with your tona would be a waste of time in my opinon.

Nothing wrong with Daytona's, lots more room and comfier. L body is a good drag car,
