Polls reveals world anger at Bush

Eight out of 10 countries favour Kerry for president

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uselections2004/viewsofamerica/story/0,15221,1327568,00.html

Polls show worsening of U.S. reputation:

America's reputation around the world is hurting, according to a series of coordinated polls published Friday from 10 countries, including many of the United States' closest allies.

International poll: The world opposes Bush, except Israel :

Israelis, perhaps not surprisingly, are alone in their support of the American president.

Re: Polls reveals world anger at Bush

Its the US's forgion policy that the world has a problem with, in a nutshell its very arogant.

As much as I hate bush, I wonder if Kerry will be any better, Iv certianly not seen anything that says he will show any more respect to the desicions of the UN, or take a more conservative approach to the political views of other, non-western countrys.

I could care less that 8 out of ten favor Kerry. He wouldn't be their president. They want what's best for THEM NOT US!

And that is exactly the problem.
If the US president only made policy for the US 8 out of 10 people would not give a damn.
But the US president does not make US only policy.
The US controls a hugely dispropotionate amount of the worlds resources, and has undoublty the worlds most mobile, active and powerful military, yet it weilds that power with total and utter disrespect for the opinions and views of the rest of the world.
If you want an example the most recent invasion of Iraq was opposed by all the members of the UN with the exception of 3, all of which had billions of dollars worth of trade to gain from surporting the US.

Yeah, it's pretty retarded to claim that the U.S. should only look out for itself. If the U.S. wants to police the world, it has to listen to the whole world as well.

Re: Polls reveals world anger at Bush

I disagree. I'm not going to vote based on what Korea or Italy think of us or based on what is best for Germany or Canada. I'm voting for who I think is best for me and best for the country. I do however believe that right now what is best for me and the rest of the country is to back out of policing the world and let them take care of themselves for a change. I believe we should reduce our role in the UN if not completely remove ourselves from it. Put our money into building up a strong military for defense instead of offense. Let other countries play a larger role in aid to other countries for a change.

We cannot just look out for ourselfs. We need to make bonds, not break them. George Bush is slow suicide for this country.

Of COURSE they opposed the invasion! The bastards were in bed with that bastard Saddam! If the US is going to sit on their asses and wait for approval to defend our national interests we are in DEEP kimchee! You think France cares about our interests? ...Germany?...Spain?...others? Hell no. We bend over backwards to help the world and get slapped in the face. Afghanistan and Iraq are BOTH so much better off now than they were before 9/11!! We did the right thing...We are doing the right thing. The right thing doesn't always seem all that popular at the time. Did we do the right thing in WWII? Many thought no...after all Germany never did attack us prior to our invasion.

Then he's the perfect candidate. The last time I checked, those countries don't have the best interest of the US in mind. Its just funny to watch the libs bend over backwards to get someone to like them.

Re: Polls reveals world anger at Bush

How is Iraq better? They are actually worse off under US Control than they were under Saddam. Newsflash! Most Iraqis hate America and see us as occupiers and that is just what we have become. Don't you get it we have turned into the Nazis in the Germany - WWII scerario!

No matter whether we stay and help them rebuild or get out quick, the children growing up without family members (because the US invaded and killed them) are going to grow up and I can promise you they won't be grateful.

The Iraq occupation has done more to recruit members for Bin Laden's group than any other action we could have taken in response to 9/11.

Furthermore... IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11!!!! Quit trying to create a link that does not exist.

I don't want a president that cares what "the world" thinks. "The world" would like to see the US crash and burn.

I know you don't, that's what is wrong with the US.

Narrow mindedness will be our undoing.

It's working for nearly every country in the world so why not here? I'm not talking about breaking bonds with our proven allies but focusing more internal and less on external. Let those who cry for our help then complain because it didn't get there quick enough or that we didn't give enough turn to someone else. Let those who criticize us because they think we aren't giving enough reach into their own pockets and give more for a change. Let those who want someone to police the world because they don't want that responsibility left up to them take a turn at it.

Bush isn't the answer and neither is Kerry.

Curiously, neither does doing the wrong thing.Bush should have concentrated his efforts on catching terrorists, not advancing his agenda in Iraq,.

I'll agree to that.. But i would also like to mention that while Bush is claiming that the Iraqi's have more freedom now than ever, he's taking all of our freedoms away one by one. I mean, what's with this National ID card that citizens might have to get??? I've heard nothing but bad news about this from both sides of the spectrum.
