hey guys i have a 96 corolla with a manual tranny and was wondering if a clutch from a 1.8 would fit a 1.6...i have a 1.6........

Dont put in a used clutch!!!! All the work is in getting to it, for the extra $100 get a new one. To answer your question, I'd recomend going to your local dealer and getting the part #'s for each clutch. If they are the same, there is your answer. I just did a clutch job on my car, ('95 4a) and there cant be much of a difference other than the max ft/lb the clutches can withstand (20ft/bl either way wont make a difference, especially since you are going to a weaker engine)

Jeff:
I have Experience installing both of these . They are a different size. When we put on a wrong one on the engine wouldn't mate to the tranny. Try an aftermarket supplier if you would like better performance from the clutch. |
