New to Daewoo

I just bought an '02 Lanos and I wanna "soup it up" by way of cold air intake, cat back exhaust, Altezza-style tail lights and 16" or 17" rims. Where can I find said parts, are they even made, and is installation relatively easy? I'm really into the tuner scene, I had a '96 Neon but it was getting to be too much cost to keep it as a daily driver and we NEEDED a car so the wife and I got a new Lanos. ANY ideas, pointers, etc. is GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

Sorry but I just happen to see this forum...

Hey if you are into the "tuner scene" then sell that piece of crap and get a Integra, civic, 240sx...etc...

For the money you pay you would of got a MUCH better car...WTF! a Daywoooooooooooooooo

Sorry you obviously made a BAD choice....stop by at the real "tuner" forums and get a good hand on whats going on.

Please by no mean am I flaming. Its really sad and I cant help it but to save you from this pile of junk and get you going on a really chick getter.

I have this classmate who thinks he's by PIMP drive a badass stickered flame Daewoo with chrome muffler tips and some UGLY ASS Chrome rims.

You want to, do it right. Not be gay like him and get made fun of. I mean what the hell is he soooo proud of?

PLEASE take my advise and so many others and do it right. All you do if you keep the Daewoo is make the real tuners look bad in the publics eye...Trust me, we are pretty F*cked by these losers out there with homemade PVC "wings" and a dryer hose CAI and a big APC sticker on the windshield and a AutoZone exhaust tip.

No offense taken! My wife loves the damn car. If were up to me solely, we woulda got a Lancer. I found a nice intake from NOPI's online catalog, but that's about it. All I really want is some nie 17 or 18" rims, a decent cold air intake and a decenty cat bak exhaust. I'd rather it "look" fast than be a 10 second 1/4 mile monster to be honest. I'm 34, married with 2 kids. MY "street" days are pretty much over.

I almost pissed myself when you said soup it up by way of . . . Altezza tail-lights and rims. WTF? Really. I don't mind the car you drive, but lights and rims does not = souping up, in anyones dictionary. Sorry to flame or whatever but man please. Some of us are really sensitive to that type of thing.

Re: New to Daewoo

Funny thing happened to me on the way home from the market the other day. Pulled up to the light in my near bone stock 99 Nubira, next to a civic someone obviously dumped a LOT of money into... and I couldnt resist... we ran neck and neck for all of 3 seconds before I started pulling away and left him in the dust.

Point being, it's not always the packaging that brings home the bread, but the yeast inside I am more than happy with my "Daewooooo", and snicker everytime someone makes a joke about it. Dont be a cookie cutter, dont be like everyone else, step outside and see that everything isnt about supras and civics and evos.

I agree Daewoo is nice I raced a BMW the other day and he was so pissed because I had beat him off the line and we were neck in neck on our local racing area known as the Pike and he was even with my rear quarter panel and could not pass me LOL I went into fourth at about 70 mph and then I let off because I knew I had won after the quarter mile and he kept trying to get me to run again and was screaming out the window all kinds of bad stuff LOL

Here are some pics of my Daewoo and yes those are 17" rims

Re: New to Daewoo

i tell u those things are crappy cars, ur better off buying a civic in any way means of trying to fix something up. not many people sell things like that especially since GM bought the company out and took it out of the country. My x has a 01 leganza, and that thing is crap. first the back window track system broke, then the check engine light came on at 30,000 miles, and then both 02 sensors went at 35,000 miles, then right after that the flex pipe broke at 50,000 miles. And she has 90,000 miles on it for being 4 years old, and i swear that thing will fall apart if u blow on it. I hate Daewoos, and i am glad GM was smart and got rid of the company. good ridons(sp?).

Re: New to Daewoo

and which 2 chevy's would that be, and what 2 suzukis, cuz i know here in america they would not sell daewoos nor sell anything like them, that is the reason the pushed them out of the country.
