4.0l Introduction

How do you guys feel about the upgrade to the 4.0l V6 for 2005? I was just looking for some pros/cons, and chat about Ford's 4.0l introduction to the Mustang lineup. I hear that they should respond better to mods, and of course start out with more power from the factory. Any input?

Re: 4.0l Introduction

It will be smoother than the 3.8 and make more power. However, the biggest difference will be the new chasis. Much, much stiffer and more ergonomic for the driver ( i.e. pedal, shifter, steering wheel placement).

AHHH! I finally got see the new Mustang today. My local dealer had one of only 2 in the area. It was a light blue 4.0l coupe. WOW! I really wondered if Ford would have the smash I have been hoping for. They had what I hoped for and more! I have seen pictures, but it blew me away in person, and it was just a 6 cyl(can't wait to see the GT). I absolutely loved the fastback styling with the Shelby-style rear glass sections. They were very reminiscent of the plexi-glass Shelby versions. I couldn't stare at the hood slope and aggression of the whole front end enough either. And the wheels! The Shelby 10-spoke(I think its 10 spoke) wheels with chrome 3 winged spinners! I never had the chance to be a part of the original Mustang rush in 1964, but if I had I imagine it would be something like this. The prices are great, the styling is great, and the performance is great! Sounds like a huge hit to me! Also the salesman said he was lucky enough to get drive behind their first '05, and said the the power seem to be much better than that of the older model. I informed him that it was the 4.0l he was experiencing, not a revamped 3.8. I am TOOOO excited. Hooooraaay FORD!

according to motor trend, the '05 GT auto ran 13.6 in the quarter mile. that's faster than a Z28 camaro (1.1 additional litres)

Re: 4.0l Introduction

well the thing you might be encountering is commonly known as mustang cheating. mustang drivers steal the engines from acuras and put them in their stangs, this is why you have a 50-50 chance of winning.

no, the 302's are like a fruit cake, there is only one of them and it gets passed from person to person but never used for more then a few days. This is why you never see two people with one at the same time.

After reading your previous posts, you are really starting to get on my nerves!! Besides beating 1978 four cylinder Mustangs the only thing you probably beat like 50% of the time is YOUR MEAT!! Get the f*ck outta here!!

I'm still waiting for my local dealer to get the 05's in. I want to take one for a rip!

I'm putting down a deposit for a White on Black GT this weekend. But I don't know how long it will take to get delivered.
