Why does hot to cold Weather effect PSI so Much??

My tires are kept at 30PSI, here on LI the weather has been 70 one day, 50 the next, back up to 65 etc.. Yesterday i checked all tires, each one was 28psi at cold, today, they jumped back to 30psi. Is it the pressure in the atmosphere..?? Similair to the way bass from subs carries further at night..

Temperature, colder air is denser, as such, the colder it is, the more dense the air within the tire=less pressure
