Power Window Motor 88' Accord
Here's my problem.
I bought a used 88' Accord. The power Window motor was not working. I bought an after market motor and installed, but the idiot before me cut the connectors off, so all I have is loose wires. I need to know how to connect the motor to the wires coming from the car. I have six wires coming from the car and four coming from the motor. I know that the WHT/YELLOW coming from the car is hot, but not sure what wire to connect it to on the new motor, if anyone knows PLEASE help. If you need to know all the colors of the wires from the motor and car LMK and I'll post. One last thing. This is a 2-door. It's the driver side window. I've checked the passenger side already but the motor has different color wires so it's no help. I've also checked google, dealer and my Haynes manual but nothing! Thanks guys. |

Re: Power Window Motor 88' Accord
Except for the ground wire, all wires to the motor unit goes to the motor control unit. Wires from the motor control unit to the motor are : red/yellow (2)(my book says both are red/yellow, but I think it might be error. One is red/yellow and the other is red/?), a blue and a black. The red/yellow wires go to the motor itself and depending on how the voltage is applied (which one is positive) will cause the window to go up or down. The blue wire goes to the pulser within the motor unit. There should be two blacks, one to the motor control unit and one to ground. The white/yellow is the hot lead and goes to the motor control unit. It doesn't go to the window motor. Hope this helps.

Re: Power Window Motor 88' Accord
It is too hard to explain without a wiring diagram in front of you. I need your email address and I will send you the wiring diagram.

Re: Power Window Motor 88' Accord
I suggest your best bet is to go to the junkyard and find the connector that goes with the motor and wires...reason being is when it gets cold the wires will arc.....it is worth the 2 or 3 bucks to get one out of the junk yard....you can get them off any third gen accord
