hey everyone ltns...really need HELP!!!

i really havent had any problems since the last one for a long time, till now. Thanks for your help in advance. Ok here it is. On my 96 jetta gls the drivers side window is not going up. It will go down all the way. then it will go up about 3 inches then stop.. will go down then go up about three inches...We were thinking of taking the door panel off and disconnecting it and manually pulling it up. Im not sure this will work. We really need your help on this one please anyone...also we were looking for screws for the panel.. is it held by clips???? happy Turkey day thanks again.... aj
